Xbox One Arena Initiative Announced

Microsoft unveiled their new Xbox Live Arena initiative this morning during their E3 2016 press event. The program will allow players and studios alike to create and run their own esports-like competitions on the Xbox One.

Arena will be available across Xbox One’s dashboard and will feature compatible games from developers like Daybreak Studios, Hi-Rez Studios, War Gaming, as well as EA Sports and more.

The announcement came alongside a wider push for more social interaction on Xbox Live including Clubs, a clan-like system for friends to share their in-game experiences with one another. A similar Looking for Group service was revealed as well, which will allow players in games like Destiny and The Division to find teams of players outside of the game.
