The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine Expansion Releases Today

CD PROJEKT RED has become one of the most acclaimed studios in recent memory. Their dedication to adapting the Polish fantasy novels of The Witcher into dark mature Action RPGs is something to be proud of in of itself, but specifically, it is the critical and commercial powerhouse of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt that demonstrated the raw talent and ambition the studio could show. Now they are putting the world of The Witcher aside with their second and final expansion pack to The Wild Hunt, Blood and Wine which releases today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC for $19.99

In this expansion, you will once again control Geralt of Rivia as he explores Toussaint, a remote land untouched by war, where you will unravel the horrifying secret behind a beast terrorizing the kingdom. With all trails leading to dead ends, only a witcher can solve the mystery and survive the evil lurking in the night. It is also a showcase for the game’s graphical overhaul, which if the trailer is anything to go by, has made an already beautiful game even more visually vibrant and impressive.

Much like the last expansion, Hearts of Stone, this new addition to the game boasts a 30+ hour adventure full of dark deeds, unexpected twists, romance and deceit. Considering how much this studio has crammed into its full game which had over 200 hours of content, all of which was of the highest quality in terms of production values, writing and engagement and its first expansion, this seems like another great addition to epic conclusion to an epic series.

CD PROJEKT RED have stated that with the conclusion of support for The Witcher 3 the studio now has all of their attention on their next project: a video game adaptation of the Cyberpunk pen and paper RPG system titled Cyberpunk 2077.
