Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition Released on PC

Today, Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition on Windows PC will be available from June 2-19 for $15.

The Starter Edition only offers two playable operators for people to experience compared to the full list of 20 original operators on the standard edition. There will be no restriction on other content. The two operators will be randomly selected from a pool of operators that include Rook, Sledge, Ash, Fuze, Mute, and Smoke. Players may also spend 600 R6 Credits on two additional characters. R6 Credits may be purchased from the in-game shop. You are initially given 600 R6 credits to purchase two characters from the shop.

Players may also choose to unlock the characters through additional grinding. Additional operators (in the starter edition) can be unlocked for 12,500 Renown compared to 500-200 renown in the standard edition. The season pass will also be compatible with the starter edition.

The standard edition of the game goes for $49.99 on Steam. The gold edition of the game (which comes with the season pass) is available for $79.99. For players looking to just get a taste of the game, this is the ideal purchase. The starter edition is digital only and will be available on Steam and Uplay. Players who choose to upgrade to the standard edition will keep their progression from one edition to the next.

Alexandre Remy, Brand Director at Ubisoft for Rainbow Six had this to say:

“The Rainbow Six community has grown tremendously since the release of Siege and we couldn’t be more proud to see the buzz and excitement from players that continue to surround the game. We hope that the Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition will encourage even more players to get their hands on the unique multiplayer experience that the game has to offer.”
