Kirby’s Kicking Bot in the Kirby: Planet Robobot Trailer

Kirby is back and he’s ready to kick some bot! Today a new trailer released for Kirby: Planet Robobot. The trailer for Kirby: Planet Robobot features our favorite pink pal. He is revving up his mecha Robobot engines for an intergalactic adventure in this Amiibo compatible game. The four new Amiibo include Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee.

Kirby will be blasting through enemies to keep his green home planet from turning into an industrial city. Without completely changing the mechanics, Nintendo is shaking it up. Why fix something that isn’t broken? By sticking to what they know best and adding a slight twist, Nintendo is hoping to put out another successful title. They already accomplished this in Japan where the Kirby: Planet Robobot topped the game charts at the beginning of the month.

While retaining many of the copy abilities from previous iterations, Kirby: Planet Robobot will be “taking robot rampage up a notch”, as the trailer puts it. The game will be adding new copy mechanics to accommodate the arrival of the Robobot suit. As well as inhaling enemies, the armor can scan them to copy foes abilities. Abilities showcased in the trailer included spark, sword, stone, cutter, fire, and wheel. We also got wind of two new abilities, ESP, a`nd poison. Kirby will even be able to morph into a ninja and doctor while inside the Robobot. Kirby’s armor can also be decorated with stickers that can be found around the steam-filled city. There are also collectible code cubes that unlock special boss battles.

In addition to the story mode, there is The Arena, a puzzle style mode called Kirby 3-D Rumble, a time attack mode known as Meta Knightmare Returns and a multiplayer RPG mode called Team Kirby Clash. Kirby: Planet Robobot will be available on June 10, 2016 on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.
